So, your car now boasts a premium Ceramic or Graphene coating—congratulations! At Ekatra Car Care, we specialize in applying advanced protective coatings, and we want you to enjoy that stunning, long-lasting finish for years to come. But how do you maintain it?
Wait Before the First Wash, after coating, your vehicle needs time to cure properly. Curing time will be usually 5 to 7 days. During this time avoid washing, rain exposure, tree sap or brid droppings. Early distrubances can reduce the coating's durability
1. Use a pH-neutral shampoo
Always wash your coated car using a pH-neutral shampoo designed for coated surfaces. Harsh soaps can degrade the protective layer. At Ekatra, we use and recommend specially formulated ceramic shampoos that preserve the coating’s hydrophobicity and shine.
2. Wash in the shade
Direct sunlight can cause soap and water to dry too quickly, leading to water spots. Always wash in a shaded area and dry the surface with a clean microfiber towel.
3. Use the two-bucket method
This method minimizes the chances of swirl marks. One bucket holds clean water, and the other holds your shampoo mix. Rinse your wash mitt in the clean water before dipping it back into the soap bucket.
4. Dry with care
Use high-quality microfiber towels to dry your car. Avoid circular rubbing motions—pat or gently pull the towel across the surface.
5. Use a ceramic or graphene detailer spray
Once every couple of washes, apply a ceramic or graphene booster spray to maintain the coating’s hydrophobic and UV-resistant properties. These sprays are available at Ekatra Car Care’s studio and online store.
6. Avoid abrasive polishes or waxes
Your coating already provides gloss and protection—there’s no need for additional waxes. Polishes, especially those with abrasives, can damage the coating.
7. Schedule maintenance inspections
Come in to Ekatra Car Care for an annual inspection. We can decontaminate the surface, reapply booster layers, and ensure your coating continues performing at its best.
8. Keep bird droppings and bug splatter off
Though the coating offers some resistance, acidic contaminants like bird poop and dead bugs should be cleaned off quickly to prevent etching.
